My lived experience is that I was a child who grew up in a home with domestic violence, which impacted me to the point that I was diagnosed with PTSD. I had to navigate the mental health system and the shelter systems (Safe Horizon.) Till this day, I am involved with them to help families struggling with domestic violence.
