ABOUT KEYONA
As a Communities that Care Coordinator and Community Organizer, Keyona engages residents, businesses, and organizations in East Harlem in collaborative projects and initiatives. She was attracted to The Foundling because of the organization’s mission to help children and families reach their full potential, which aligns with her passions for child protection and community building. Keyona is committed to this work, and hopes to continue her professional advancement in the fields of advocacy and outreach.
Keyona, who grew up and continues to reside in Brooklyn, attended St. Saviour High School. She received her Bachelors’ degree in International Relations from Agnes Scott College, and a Masters’ degree in International Affairs from The New School. In her free time, Keyona enjoys meditation, listening to music, and reading books. She is inspired by the late Shirley Chisolm, the late Brazilian activist Marielle Franco, and former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt. However, her grandmother has always been her role model when it comes to persevering against the odds.
