Ashlynn Batista
Community Organizer (Manhattan)
ABOUT ASHLYNN
As a CTC Community Organizer, Ashlynn engages community members, nonprofit leaders, and other stakeholders in Northern Manhattan in developing coalitions to better support their communities. She joined the Community Organizing team because she is passionate about community building. While in high school she was a part of the NYC Mayor’s Youth Leadership and discovered a passion to advocate for others and boost their confidence to be able to advocate for themselves and their communities. Ashlynn joined the Foundling because she felt the work being done was prominent and impactful. She has always wanted to be a part of an organization that cares for the betterment of those in need. In the future, she hopes to have made a lasting impact through her work as a Community Organizer and pursue a Master’s degree that will help further her professional development.
Ashlynn, who is a born and raised Queens native, received her B.A from St. John’s University. To de-stress from work, she enjoys creating new experiences for herself whether that means traveling, trying new foods or seeing my favorite musicians live. Her role model is her mom, as she is inspired by her independence and resiliency. Her mother taught her that it does not matter where you come from, you are able to create the life you want for yourself through passion and hard work!
