The Strong Families and Communities Training Center utilizes a Community Engagement approach to build meaningful partnerships with neighborhood stakeholders and improve outcomes for families across New York City.
This approach has demonstrated a strong impact on community well-being, including increased access to quality medical and mental health services whether that be within The New York Foundling or our dedicated partners throughout the city, improved educational outcomes, and reductions in violence and substance use, alongside broader youth and community member improvements.
The New York Foundling continues to lead innovative efforts by implementing research-informed strategies for social change through community engagement. Through this work, team members support the development and sustainability of borough-based coalitions alongside a citywide coalition and citywide council, guide community assessments and data-informed planning, collaborate with partners to establish shared priorities, and provide ongoing support to strengthen engagement efforts at the community level.
